Well here we have my 3.1 ltr 4 speed Mk 3 in Nissan "Yellowish Green" (real name of colour).

I bought it a couple of years ago. Originally it was a Red XX pack owned by a mate of mine. One day many moons ago our wonderful Police Force in Yeovil decided to have a closer look at the car.

They did this by 1. Speeding and 2. Driving with undue care and attention straight into the side of it on the, get this, Police Roundabout in Yeovil!!!!!

Needless to say the insurance payout was quite large and very quick. Anyway my mate, luckily enough knew where he could get his hands on a brand new, never been built capri shell that someone had hidden away. Off he went with a fistfull of cash and purchased the shell and then proceded to re-shell the original car. Fortunately he was (and still is) a panel beater/sprayer by trade and because this was his pride and joy he made an amazing job of the bodywork, which is why years later it still looks totally spot on.

After a while he decided to move on to BMW's and sold the car on. After a few more years and a couple of owners i was offered it, well, i didn't need to be asked twice, i would have bought it before but couldn't afford it at the time. All i had to do was get back to the country as i was sailing around the Indian Ocean at the time (perks of being in the Navy). Anyway once back here i visited the bank and emptied my account. It was now my pride and joy, along with the convertible.

Since buying XWS i've replaced the bonnet as it had gone all along the front lip, with a satin black one, and at the mo that's about it!! However, it's now off the road for a 2 year strip and re-build, however the other two will be the priority so progress will be slow initially.

The plan is to freshen up the engine, replace the interior with a black one and fit some recovered 90 spec recaros in the front, new wheels, respray the body keeping it the same colour and generally give her a new lease on life.

Updates to follow as i progress the build.

Today was one of stripping the car. Front seats/dash/door cards/heater motor all out. When that was done i turned to the engine bay and stripped the top of the engine off, both heads/inlet manifold and some of the ancils

Looking sad, partially stripped for a respray.
